yeh metho would remove all the polish off the car......... then the sticker could remove the clear coat if left on for a long period of time.....
Step 1 Wash Car Step 2 Quick Polish Step 3 Either Wet lay with soapy water or dry lay if the stickers small enough. Step 4 thoroughly rub the sticker down with squeegee or old credit card before removing transfer. Step 5 remove transfer Step 6 Leave car in sun for a while if you've wet laid the stickers on the car and dont wash it for at least 24-48 hours after appling the stickers. When ready to remove sticker Step 1 carefully remove stickers to make sure nuthing gone wrong under neath. If stubborn use hair dryer to warm up sticker, which loosens up the adhesive. Step 2 Remove any sticker residue with a metho / turps / Cytris Cleanner... Step 3 Wash Car Step 4 Polish Car done. |

Have used wax and grease remover on paint as well to get tar and other super sticky stuff off but always follow it with wax as you have stripped the paint bare. But doing this before applying stickers without reapplying wax will make them stick like poo to a blanket and make it very likely that the clear coat and/or the paint will come with them when they come off. The idea is to put a bond breaker like wax between the sticker and the paint that allows enough adhesion to allow the stickers stay where you want them without blowing off, but allow them to come off easily when you want them to. i find leaving the car in the suun for a while to warm the stickers works nicely.
