Good sound is so, so subjective. What specific model? What amp would be powering it? So many variables. Better off stating a budget and what amp you have and asking what people recommend for a sub.

As a vague answer - Hertz are generally good value for money speakers.

Are there any local suppliers that have one that you can demo?
It's a slimline 8" sub in a box. By default, it's going to sound like shit. It doesn't go any lower than 40hz either which will be fine for any 4-4 doofdoof, but if you listen to dnb, dubstep, hiphop, rnb, etc it's going to be fairly restricted in the bass that it puts out. ie. it's not going to get low.

What car is it going into/why do you need a slimline?

I agree with trolley you need a 10 inch at least 8 inch subs are good for front stage mid bass in generalised terms, not saying you cant build a 4th order box for a 8 and make it pound.

what im saying is that sub in that box will sound worse than a set of six be nines tuned correctly

just saying thats all

Where did you buy from?
Did you actually listen to the Type R splits? Interesting choice...
Output converter - are you running your OEM head unit?

Default Yes to both

Original head unit- that's why the LC.
Last two subaru's I have run alpine splits.
I like the strong mid section they provide. At mid / high volume this should provide a good "all music" sound, I guess time will tell.
