If there is a way to lodge a complaint against said workshop, I would be looking into one.

Wishing you all the best on it!
Keep us in formed on the matter.

Not too sure if any one else will be in a similar situation in the future, but would it be much to ask if you can scan/upload the documentation you have obtained from Subaru Australia?

Seems to me that after you doing the hard yards and getting the correct documention.. And have offered documents to the inspector he has realised that he has been wrong all along..
And to save face he is CLAIMING that you are offering dodgey paper work for a FACTORY coloured window

As others have said he is a wanker

Not sure how or what you can do about it other then make a complaint

Have sent a detailed email to Subaru Australia in regards to this whole scenario and asked if they could please provide a legal bound document so that i can keep the DPI and assessor happy! (cause that's what we have to do, common sense is not applied at inspection stations). I also asked them to hopefully make such letter/document readily available to wrx owners incase they have to go through the same scenario as i know its caused me a lot of time to be wasted not to mention the frustration i have had going back and forward from place to place trying to get the sticker removed. I personally don't see how the DPI aren't aware of the fact these vehicles are fitted with privacy glass factory i mean surely it's not my responsibility to do their job finding this information out and they are the ones that are supposed to know the legalities and conditions with tint and privacy glasses!

anyway car will be going into the warwick centre next week as i ended up visiting today and they checked the rear glass for me and said they would pass the vehicle at the cost of the re-assessment which i shouldn't have to do but it's better than dealing with autopower in Joondalup......Please beware and save yourself time, money and patience cause the mob up there are highly unprofessional and have no such care for customer satisfaction even left some nice big grease marks on my drivers side window pillar!

You would think that since 5 years have passed since the 07 came out, surely he would have seen more than your one in his time?

How about a dozen of you unmodified 07 owners with factory tinted rears all rock up to his pit at the same time and give him a "car show"

Hang on, hang on, hang on, hang on!!

Were you dealing with a mechanic/workshop/private company, or a DPI inspection centre (aka: The Pits)?
