Special thanks to Argh spec, plasti dipped my wheels, the surface comes really good. $30 a can from Inallo Auto pro. They also have glossifier, metaliser and smoke tint, too

I plastic dipped my chrome badges black. Looks awesome on the blue!!! I think I might do my wheels black too..

How many cans to do it? Hard to do or normal spray can type stuff? how do you prepare the previous surface? light sandpaper?
|
no sand paper
i just used a wax and grease remover to clean the surface then spray.
peels off easy when you want it too. coverage. prob 1 can per rim if ya doing rims. i have just done badges at the moment. |
2.5 cans if u only do the spokes(mine is 18 spokes per rim), 4 cans if u do the inside too.
wax and grease remover is sufficient, i would recommend to do 7+ coats. the paint is still strong after one track day, no peeling or melting(finger crossed) |
when painting a chrome grill do I need to sand it back at all? or just paint straight over it?

As my new house mate is the manager of a powdercoating business I am not longer going to do any plasti dipping as I can get pc for free. Will have pics up soon of the latest cosmetic mods :)

To some of the guys/girls who have plasti dipped parts of your cars... Has it lasted? Any splitting? Ive asked around and I've had very mixed emotions about the spray cans.... but I'm considering doing my bonnet scoop in black..... Looks good in these pictures :D
