Wrecked my front bumper grrrrrr!
Ok so this whopping great Kerb jumped in front of me when I was parking my MY12 earlier today. Needless to say, the bumper is scratched all across the bottom and also has a lovely tear where it pulled off. Clearly it's all one piece so it all needs
So... Insurance wise I can get it replaced but I'm not sure whether to get it done as new or to replace it with something better? As the car is pretty new and I haven't done any mods to it, just wondering what you guys would do? Thoughts? Oh and no hanging shit on the female driver bizzo, don't need it, has been a crappy day already lol! Fran |

Get it done as new.
Aftermarket bumpers etc all look like aids.... If you want it to look better afterwards purchase a front lip, but get a new bumper first!

Hard to tell the extent of damage without pictures.
Had some pot hole damage and some minor curb damage (car was lowered with coilovers at the time) and managed to have the bumper repaired looking like new. Had Neil at Unique Auto Refinishers in Maddington do the work and couldn't fault it. If you do replace it due to damage being too great, then get an OEM bumper.

don't go through insurance if it's just bumper damage and not frame damage.. it'll be better int he long run.

Replace with OEM bumper then add front lip.

LOL... yeah sure, why not put a lip on it and make it lower.. because that's not the issue in the first place?

Never phone your insurance company until you have an idea of what it will cost you to fix. Your premiums will thank you.
You could be up for a bit of plastic welding and some paint, a lot cheaper then a replacement front bumper. (this is obviously situationally dependent)

One would assume your excess would be at least $500. A new bumper for my MY08 was less than that, so a MY11/12 would hopefully be close to that price. Go see the guys at City Subaru in Vic Park for a 10% Perth WRX discount too.
Before spending money though, post up pics. We need to say the obligatory "it'll buff/plastic weld out"
