Default Swapping bugeye drivers seat

Hey yo dudes, can anyone please tell me if 08+seat cushion and covers/skins will swap into a 01 wrx?
The stock seats are straight painful for me particularly the narrow base and high outer edges.
I find gen3 seats a lot more comfortable.
I'm quite sure an entire G3 seat unit Inc metal frame won't work without steel fabrication but happy to be shown wrong. Airbags will bring a new level of shitfulness to the story too im sure.
Only knowledge I have of this is from US forums, often mentions of anchor bolts not aligning, which I have seen photos.
So I get that bit, I did read about fabricating rails to suit but (and this was only 04 seats into 01 car) I'm quite sure I couldn't do the rail mods required myself, if anyone knows what's required or even better how to do it personally I'd appreciate hearing about it. Or a clued in custom fab shop?
Even if I can change out the drivers base cushion I'd be happy.
Obviously I'm hoping to avoid learning it doesn't work the hard way.
If above idea is a def fail, are there other seats that can be swapped in (from a liberty etc) ? Really the only requirement is for a more comfortable drivers seat though. All passengers seats purely discretionary based on cost.
I'd be grateful to hear any ideas or experiences regarding this.

I have an 03 seat as my driver, though you'll have to either modify the existing belt buckle 'not recommended', or change it out, as its not long enough.

As far as rails go, they're 'the 03', a direct fit.

Ok cool thanks, will look into it, is the 03 seat different (more comfortable) than the 01 seats?
I've been reading people love the 01 seats due to the bolstering, which I can understand.
Though in my case it's the bolstering on the base that is causing the discomfort as it's preventing my legs from sitting naturally or when in my natural driving position they poke up into my hamstring.
Any knowledge on swapping out cushions from an 08+wrx?
Any further ideas on this would be great, before I start messing around. Cheers.

Cool aware of the 08+ rail difference, thanks anyway.
Jacob I'm the same measurements as you, great suggestion thanks.
Do you know if they will fit into the 01 wrx without modification? I see you have a 01/02 foz, possibly the same seat frame/dimensions/mounting points as the 01wrx?
I can't recall correctly from my previous searches a few days ago and don't fancy trawling the nasioc forums today in the hope of finding out.

Oh great, thanks a heap for that, you're a legend.
I've got a good starting point now.
I'll do the ring around the wreckers and see if I can get something sorted.
Thanks for help.
