Haha, excellent! The wider and meatier the wheels are, the better I say. Nah mate, mine are 265/35/18. Wanted absolutely 0 rim sticking out haha. Would have gone wider if I could have, but already had enough issues as it was to just fit those in...

Alright starting to narrow my choices down.

Two sets that have my attention at the moment are Rota Grid and Rota G-Force in 18x8.5 +44. Some searching around suggests that should fit my 08 hatchback without too much trouble, would that be right? Also thinking of going with some HSD coilovers.

Any thoughts on my choices?

I know it's all very subjective but I can't decide at the moment. My brake setup probably won't look too flash behind either wheel but I will be getting some new rotors soon to help with that.

Also toying with the idea of white wheels but thinking that will be over the top.

You have a black car don't you?

White on black. Some like this? A pain to keep clean but can look decent I think.

Not set on rotas duke, but they are looking pretty nice and very affordable. $1k on rims leaves me good money for nice rubber to go with them.

Yep, the car is black. That looks sweet houl! I think there's less concave in the grids I will be going for because of the offset i need, but that looks pretty cool. White is definitely on the consideration list

Xxrs are slightly more but also on the cheaper side and are a fair bit lighter.

Vision R is your best place for rotas and yeah white and polished silver or black chrome will look good on black.

Had a look at some Xxrs, nothing really stands out at me and they are a fair bit more expensive than what I'm looking at though still within range.

Came across this picture of the grids, think I am pretty close to being sold here. Just need to settle on my colour. White will be hard to maintain, but so is my whole damn car so that's nothing new haha.

This black looks pretty good too

Hey guys, noob question, but how wide can the wheels be before they start causing problems? IE needing to roll guards etc, Looking for something aggressive looking, but not hell stanced out, something that just makes everything tie in together, looking at the back of my car now the wheels look stupidly small compared to everything else.

Like is there a possibility of going say 18x9.5 or something without much other work needed?

On a GD, I'm running 8.75 x 18 +20..guards rolled front and back, camber on the front. Rears poke about 20mm..

if you want aggressive and functional, I would suggest 18 x 9 +35..guards rolled slightly and it will look the goods.

I have ordered my new rims, I can go and pick them up from Vision R tomorrow whoo

Next question .. Who should I call about tyres now? I think wheels world have a good rep around here for good tyre fitment and balancing? Anybody else I should consider?

Rims are 18x8.5, I'm thinking a 235/40/18 tyre.

Thanks for all the help and input I have gotten from you guys. As my user title suggest I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing so all the help has been very appreciated!
