but can u genearte more bost without it or is it the same?

LC at 5500.. i dunno how u can do that hahaha
U generate at least 1bar of boost off the line, thats where the benefit is.

LC is designed to give you perfect launches, Redline launches are fun but they cause too much wheelspin which makes you slower. You will need to fine tune what RPM it is set at for it to not bog down or create too much wheelspin. Your current 5500rpm is most likely setup for road launches but with the extra traction of the strip your car is bogging down, another 500-1000rpm more should see it working fine at the plex.
I think Jons was set at 5K worked a treat on the streets but bogged down at the strip, I have mine set at 5K also but have no problems on the street or strip to get it off the line bear in mind I have a 2.5.

5500 bogs at the street with a normal 'dump' launch

i'l experiment a little b4 i decide i think

i think its a lot to do with the tyres im using.

they have very soft sidewalls, so id imagine them being very grippy off the line

My tacho doesnt even work on my Liberty, foot to floor, step off clutch, hold on, 1.78 60 footers...

Unless your making mega grunt you shouldnt be spinning badly.

at the point i dumped the clutch & revs drop to 4000rpm (black vertical line) - i've got 1bar with practically zero road speed.

LC+AL=1bar at launch at 5000rpm.

The LC allows you to generate boost with no load because you're limiting the engine revs by ignition cut but you still have the airflow to the engine with a wide open throttle allowing the turbo to spool up. Throw in antilag and it's a whole lot of fun. The AL also helps you build up decent EGTs in the system. All you guys that have been to dyno shootouts, 2nd run always nets you more power?!! That's because the exhaust is up to temperature from the 1st run.

Benefits of LC are that once you have it setup correctly you get a perfect launch EVERYTIME, not once in a while.
