Ecutek is a world wide company with multiple workshops running the software who claim to provide fantastic support but in Jarons case all pointed fingers at someone else and no one took responsibility for a new motor failing. Verso as far as I understand is a development of OpenEcu with custom software for multiple applications developed by lots of people around the world in the workshops and backyards. The only real difference between the two is funding.

mattr!x you definately sound like you are either an idiot or you have RT's hand up your ass or a combination of the two. Trusti rex at least you are trying to learn and are open to other peoples opinion rather than blindly trusting a sales pitch.

The forum is here for people to learn whats the best route to take with their car and we try to keep commercial interest out of it. Open and some times heated discussion is welcome, slanderous acusations based on 0% fact are not
man thanks for the post!! at least you got my intentions (agenda: cheers kato) correct. information! simple really. you also answered the best you could the one question i wanted to know about verso... where it came from. i asked this about 5 pages ago but no one read that. which workshop does/ does not use/recommend or otherwise is to me irrelevant. so for me this verso discussion is over for now until i can hopefully pass on decent info to someone newer.

Yeah I was under the impression verso was just a brand name given to an open source ecu program. iE you could go download open ecu for free right now and run it if you had a dyno and do it all yourself for free I dont know if verso has developed further than that, but im pretty confident that is where it started out.

Yes it's open source, but it's also had stupid amounts of time put in to development on top of the 'download'....

I tune my own car now, definitely not worth the risk to let a professional thats been doing it for years tinker with my car.

/sarcasim

Open source software is out there, but why risk thousands messing around when for $1k you can get a tune from a professional.

Maybe we should start a VERSO wish list...
1) Tuning for CANBUS ECU's
2) Rotational Idle and Anti Lag
3) Incar tuning through your iPhone
4) ...
