DEDLYWEPN 27-05-2011 04:47 PM

Can you do RWD as well or only AWD/4WD?? Would be interested to see what my XRT puts out.

mao 27-05-2011 05:29 PM

Yup, rwd is not a problem. Our dyno accurately measures up to 1400hp.

teejay 29-05-2011 10:09 AM

I was a little busy yesterday so didnt have time to reply here.

Thank your mechanic for his work yesterday Mao, very professional service.

mao 29-05-2011 05:28 PM

Will pass your msg on to Warick.

It is good to know that this forum has very nice ppl. Best forum so far I would say. Even the arguments in this forum are very open and straight and doesn't get personal. Moderators have done a good job.

Been trying to get into other forums as a vendor but they have gotten too political for me including some forums for the hondas and evos, where the vendors are the forum owners.

Anyway, have a good day and drive safe.

RoughStilin 02-06-2011 07:44 PM

Would just like to say thanks to Mao and Warick for their great service today at Evolution R.

I had a dyno run today and was very happy with the service they provided and how professional they were in what they did.

Warick is a very competent mechanic, who certainly knows his stuff about mechanical and tuning aspects of vehicles.

We also managed to get a CEL code fault up on the scanner tool they have, which is an issue that has been bugging me for ages.

Great service provided and I'm stoked I found my problem.

Thanks heaps guys :D!!!

Cheers

Simon

Going down for a quick power run this afternoon.

Should be good to compare from my last run.
Going down for a quick power run this afternoon.

Where did you do your last run? I am just keen to see the comparison in dyno's. Have you completed any other work since your last run on the dyno? Also do you know what time of year it was when you did the last one?

meatbag 28-06-2011 01:10 PM

Last run was on ASG's dyno. Not a clue on time of year but if you check my build thread, the dyno was on the day I posted the graph. No new work. I was also interested in the difference between the two dyno's, but the run is mostly to get some new pretty graphs to fap over and cure some boredom.

RoughStilin 28-06-2011 01:22 PM

Cool, thanks for that.

Mine was dynoed this time last year and made 252 hp on the ASG dyno. I managed 246 on the Evolution R dyno from memory around a month ago, so they are pretty identical in my eyes. Keen to see your results, so make sure you post up your pretty bits of paper ;)

mao 28-06-2011 07:14 PM

Today's cold weather was superb for a comfortable power run.

Did a 309hp first pass and a whopping 319hp on the second.
Once again boost weened off 0.2 bar from the topend at 1.3bar after 5000rpm.

Here is a graph of the second run:

meatbag 28-06-2011 07:56 PM

Cheers Mao, I couldn't be othered uploading the pics. That confirms what I've always felt by the seat of my pants though. The car feels a bit slugish at first, but once you give it a good couple of squirts to heat up the headers / turbo it pulls a lot stronger.

For those interested without starting a rexnet style dyno war. Mine made 313 on ASG's dyno. Given the nice cold weather, I'd be happy to say theres stuff all difference between the two.

Great service, very professional work. Would be happy to have my car worked on there.

ceramic coat should help that along!

mao 28-06-2011 08:04 PM

Agreed.
ceramic coat should help that along!
meatbag 28-06-2011 08:11 PM

headers and up pipe were ceramic coated inside and out by CIC.

tuna 28-06-2011 08:15 PM

what about turbo and dump?

meatbag 28-06-2011 08:17 PM

nope, guess that would be the next step. Cheers.

WRX_4eva92 29-06-2011 07:10 AM

mao 29-06-2011 08:20 PM

Thanks for the Dyno run today, and thanks to your mechanic for helping with the issues of getting my oddball car on the dyno.

Can definitely recommend Evolution R's services!

mao 30-06-2011 01:45 AM

You are too kind. It was our pleasure to do the power-run for your vehicle.

A good tune producing more than 30% gain over factory is always pleasing and seeing cars like yours always motivates us to keep on going.

Regards,
Mao

Thanks to Mao & Warwick (and Simon ;) ) for chucking my GC8 on the dyno today & a VERY big thank you also to Warwick for taking my car for a run and trying to diagnose the small issue i have with part throttle.
Really nice guys to deal with and such a nice relaxed atmosphere at the workshop....I was there for a couple of hours and never felt rushed or ignored.

Looking forward to modifying my rex in the near future with you guys :D

Jon911 01-07-2011 08:19 PM

do you do anything saturday? have anything on tomorrow?

Rossco 01-07-2011 08:49 PM

Yep, They're doing a Vipec in the morning & running mine up for a (hopefully clean) 1.6-1.7 bar power run in the arvo.

RichX 01-07-2011 08:56 PM

~300hp ross i wonder? :icon_thum

Hey Matt,

Did not mention it before but great to meet you too mate :)

Its good to put a face to a internet forum name. Enjoy your time off bud, be good to keep us all informed of the issue you find on your car ;)
~300hp ross i wonder? :icon_thum
300? Maybe...Maybe not... Not fazed, it's pretty rapid as it is & very responsive.

It will be my base line for this motor anyhow.... Still running a small Vf34, stock 440cc injectors & GD top mount.

I expect improvements over the last session, where the ignition was faltering at peak torque with anything over 1.3 bar.

I have set up 3 maps to run tomorrow: 1.6, 1.65 & 1.7 bar

1.7 bar will limit it to 6800 rpm - it's hitting 100% injector duty @ 7k with this amount of boost.

Suck it & see.

Rossco 02-07-2011 04:01 PM

Net Result of today was...............

282 hp ath
371Nm

@ 1.7 bar

Slipping clutch FML!

5000km old clutch has had it's last HURAH!

Thank's again Mao & Warick........You guys are epic!
