Purchase and Warranty Guidelines
I have just accepted goods back out of goodwill but unfortunately, wires are missing off it and it has been tempered with, warranty sticker and serial number has also been removed.
Evolution R respects it's clients but have to implement reasonable warranty guidelines. This is to ensure that both the consumer and vendor is protected from doughy installers and faulty manufacture. We stock over A$500,000 alone in goods here and as such, we have to implement the following: 1) We do not accept faulty items back that have been tempered with or incorrectly installed. 2) Relevant items (pls see 3) bought from us must be installed at a workshop authorised by the Dept of Commerce in it's relevant speciality. 3) We will also indicate the conditions of warranty in our posts so you guys will be protected properly all the way through from purchase to installation and afterwards. QA: 1) How does it protect the consumer and vendor? Ans: If a faulty product is sold to you and is installed properly by a qualified + licensed workshop/installer, we will replace the product without hesitation, knowing that it is a product fault. This also works in the vendor's favor as it allows Evolution R to quickly provide good customer service by replacing the item without delay. It also helps us take it up to the manufacturer confidently and check the quality of future orders. It is a also a plus for the consumer to know that the workshop is licensed and qualified to work on his car without causing any other sort of damge to his car. 2) How will the consumer know whether he is adequately covered by warranty? If in doubt, please take it up to me here in the forum. Also, to know your legal consumer rights, you can contact DOCEP (Dept of Consumer Affairs) Regards, Mao / Evolution R Last edited by mao; 10-06-2011 at 02:42 PM. |

Maybe there should be a sign on the ounter in the shop and not on the internet, making it sound like sour grapes before i have even entered the shop makes people want to go else where first!

I agree, there should be a law passed that only qualified mechanics can buy brake components!

Don't twist my words. We are not saying that you cannot buy. Just saying to get items fitted by a qualified person

Very good point made here.
1) As a consumer, you have every right to question a retailer. It is against the law to sell fake items and if you get sold fake items by any vendors, you have every right as a consumer to get your money back. 2) If a product is faulty in the first place, what is better than having a qualified person point this out so you get your warranty with no questions asked. Motor Vehicle Industry Board --- Please call (08)9272 4338 to verify your enquiry.
It is not my place to point out who is licensed or not. so please verify yourselves. Licensed workshops are also required by law to display their licenses from the Dept of Commerce, as well as their authorised field of work which is outlined in their displayed licenses. Will post up details for licenses tonight. |

This is very confusing to me.
So if I purchase a product from your business, lets say something easy to install like a boost gauge and it is "dead on arrival", you are stating that unless I have had it installed at a workshop that is licensed by the Department of Commerce to install boost gauges (does such a thing even exist) you will not accept return of that product?
