To replace the window regulator did you need any special tools like a screwdriver?

With the window reg replacement on the W203, the window regulator is riveted in. You have to drill the rivets out and then rivet everything back again afterwards.

You will also need diagnostics, as the side airbag and SRS trigger have to be disconnected and reset again.

Part number of regulator should you require it:

Mao thanks for the service on the 3-series today - gearbox is smoother than when we first got it!

Great service as always!

Dan

Cheers Dan, the pleasure was all ours.

Below is another BMW E92 325i that we serviced recently with i-Drive. Evolution R is able to service and repair, while being able to access and reset all service indicators on these as well.

Evolution R also offers rotary engine service and tuning.

Rotor and housing assembly:

New rotary Side seals and corner seals in place. These seals are often the weak link in the motor and tend to wear out or break after 100,000km:

The dark art of rotary engineering, u guys are brave or a lot more talented than I thought!
Anyways my car is running better, coming on to boost smoother and a little stronger (I think) hard to tell for sure as have not had a chance to put my foot down properly.

Still cant believe you dyno tune cars with top mounts with the bonnet open.

Pretty sure that pic of RX3 was just for a quick snap of the engine bay being the bonnet opens the other way around...

The issue with Bonnet Closed Vs Open, has also been extensively discussed; not only here but on other car forums (Rexnet etc).. Many tuners have different styles in tuning vehicles & have discussed that no "Major" tangible proof of difference has been found in the open vs closed debate.. Mao has stipulated in previous post also:

Quote:
We have extensively tested this open/close bonnet issue. The drag coefficient and air foil cannot be simulated under stationary dyno conditions. We have seen no difference in power gains on the dyno, especially with our tuning method where we do not tune the vehicle once water temp hits more than 90degC.
Lets not try to have another Open VS Closed Bonnet argument around here.

Thanks for the input guys.

Slap Dash: Cheers.

Russ: Yes, cooling is an important aspect. But this has been discussed previously already.

I have a 06 STi here having its heads rebuilt due to overheating issues. This vehicle was modified with Cosworth components and tuned at another place. TBH, I will be more concerned getting my coolant temps down. I realise that dual stage thermo fans are seldom adjusted on a tune. Extra hp can be had by adjusting them, especially with upgraded silicon hoses, thermostat and radiator.

In the above, the thermo fan was factory default to turn on at 95deg, causing the headgaskets to blow. Will post more pics and info up soon.
