Slap....

Watch some of the races I'm talking about, there was plenty of overtaking by everyone without the DRS system, way more than now, cars could overtake anywhere in any corner which caused a lot more overtaking / risk taking type driving and was way more entertaining to watch...there were more wrecked cars in those days than now too.

Not sure how DRS improved overtaking, where drivers could control and open up the rear wing as they pleased in the old days now they can only do it in two "safe for overtaking" DRS zones.

DRS was brought in to improve driver safety and also to help the cars overtake once the FIA put strict restrictions on the engines and power you could run.
Remember when it was happening, Ferrari and other big teams were going to pull out of F1 because of this but finally decide to give in, that marked the end of F1 as we knew it, they did this to allow smaller teams to be a bit more competitive but kind of killed the sport a little...btw this is also the start of Renault engine performing well as the technology used by Ferrari in their engines that year was not allowed anymore also the engine size {anyway I could tell you more on this but just google search through the history if you happen to have missed that era of F1}

Also I wasn't saying that there's no overtaking and battles behind Vettel, there is, but its just not in the same way....watch the Hakkinen, Schumacher, Senna, Mansell, Prost eras...even Alonso's early races, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Anyway I still love F1 and what's going on now, but that's just how I feel that it's not as crazy/fun as in these days :-)

F1 as I remember it died with the last race under V12 power.

there is a user on the bay that I normally get all my F1 torrents from, all great quality and usually fast downloads as well:

Well that's the end of another season, and another era of F1.

Congrats to VET for his 4th WDC in a row, brought about by his complete dominance in the last half of the season...9 wins on the trot is nothing to sneeze at, not matter how much you may hate him.

Also congratulations to Max Chilton for being the first rookie to finish every race in his inaugural season, and also to be the only driver to finish every race of the 2013 season. Some interesting stats that he posted on his Twitter from one of his Engineers:

Also a few of the teams decided what better way to say farewell to the 2.4L V8 engines as they make way for the 1.6L V6 turbo charged engines, than to take the limiter off and see just how hard these bad boys can go:

Also, make sure to check out the F1 2013 season review for dummies, hopefully the next few parts are uploaded soon, funny stuff
