Belgian GP: Visor tear-off led to Kimi Raikkonen's Lotus retiring - F1 news - AUTOSPORT.com

Interesting that a visor tear off caused Kimi's brake problems!

Super stoked for this news.
Makes the going to Singapore in a few weeks even more special seeing 2 Aussies on the grid.

Despite Vettel again walking away with the win, there was some great racing last night.
Stoked to see Kimi get to a podium finish.

Webber's penalty for Korea is utter horseshit.

ricciardo crashed in front of my stand.
saw webbers car pumping blue smoke before it decided to self destruct....another great night on track for Aussies :-/

race was epic though. the battle between the drivers WEB, ROS, HAM & Kimi was awesome.
seeing kimi finally get good pace when it matters was awesome.
watching Vettel over the 3 days was purely sublime. at the 6/7 different vantage points i watched from for P1,2,3 & Q1,2,3 the RBR was not going to be touched. example, during practice in any of the different scenarios they tested, the RBR turned harder and picked up the power alot eariler (0.5sec at least on slower corners) than anyone else did.

i think the best team to see live is actually the marussias...why?
they sound wicked, throw big flames on the downshift, sound awesome with over run and during P3 or qually ( cant remember which) Max drifted it through turn 5 leaving Epic skids.

Na it was pretty dangerous what he pulled have a look at Hamilton almost clean them up. At the end of the day he broke the rules and entered the track without the Marshall's permission.

Not sure why Alonso wasn't penalised, it seems a dangerous place to stop

Guys, please understand that WEB's 10 place penalty in Korea is NOT for the act on the weekend (getting a lift from Alonso).

Both he and ALO received a REPRIMAND for that (WEB's was for ignoring Marshall's instructions to not re-enter the race track, and ALO's was for driving the car in a manner that was dangerous to other drivers i.e stop on a blind corner where 2 other drivers had to swerve to avoid hitting him).

Unfortunately for WEB he already had 2 reprimands this year, and once you receive 3 in a season, THEN you get a 10 place grid penalty.

So Mark only has himself to blame for the grid penalty, and after watching CCTV and spectator footage, he is bloody lucky that a reprimand is all he got. Could have easily copped HAM's front wing into his legs at 80kmph. Was a stupid act, and to be honest, I think he only did it to try and "upstage" VET (i.e all eyes on him and ALO instead of the winner)

Some more info here:
Quote:
Webber reprimand Breach of Article 30.9 (b) of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations – The driver of car 2 entered the track without the marshal's permission between the commencement of the formation lap and the time when the last car enters parc fermé.

Alonso reprimand Breach of Article 30.13 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations – The driver of car 3 drove the car in a manner which could be deemed potentially dangerous to other drivers or any other person. In this case, two cars had to take avoiding action as a result.

2013 FORMULA ONE SPORTING REGULATIONS – 18) SANCTIONS

18.2 Any driver who receives three reprimands in the same Championship season will, upon the imposition of the third, be given a ten grid place penalty at that Event. If the third reprimand is imposed following an Incident during a race the ten grid place penalty will be applied at the driver’s next Event.

The ten grid place penalty will only be imposed if at least two of the reprimands were imposed for a driving infringement.

Webber 2013 reprimands;

Bahrain (Race) – The driver of car 2 could have avoided the collision by leaving enough space for car 9 (Rosberg) who was substantially alongside in Turn 2. Reprimand.

Canada (FP1) – The driver did not make a significant reduction in speed while double waved yellow flags were displayed in Turn 3. Reprimand.

Singapore (Race) – The driver of car 2 entered the track without the marshal's permission between the commencement of the formation lap and the time when the last car enters parc fermé. Reprimand.
