I currently have a set of those Logitech z-5500 Speakers they absolutely Rock ... Best band for buck speaker set you can buy.

However I currently run from the Optical output on my mother board.

What my question is, would upgrading my sound card have any increased quality on my sound ?

My thought is it wont as I am already using optical out which is quality ?
or is there a difference.

Flac and Dts sounds great.

i have no idea when it comes to this stuff. Just wondering if I am possibly cutting my self short by using the on board optical output ?

I also notice a lot of big sound cards don't have optical out? i thought the digital rca plug is old tech >?
