Speed related.

I Wonder how many the real major cause was Drug/Alcohol or Fatigue related.

I think the Alcohol message has got through to the majority of people but you will never get through to people about drugs unless you do the equivilent of breath testing for everything you can think of ( otherwise people will just use something they don't test for ).

Fatigue is one you will never win because if 99% of people need to go from here to there and they are tired they will do it anyway. Try as you might but you will never change this. We are forever told if you are fatigued at work to call up and have a rest break but just about everyone drives round like a zombie on night shift.

Unfortunatly people need to start taking some responsibility for their own actions. Something which society these days seems to discourage!!!!

yeah well its hard to control Fatigue. Cant really just pull sumone over and say

"Hey 4 demerit points for looking like you're tired!"
"Cmon officer its a long weekend!?"
"Ohh thats 8 Demerit points"

Sorry i like quoting that add, its really stupid lol.

Other related deaths and what not alcohol/drugs etc are obviously avoidable. I dont know, where there is oppotunity, there is always sumone to take it. Human Nature.

Yesterday in Freo about 6:30pm, I saw a green 98-99 WRX with chromies and FMIC heading west down South street and turning right into the main drag

The moronic passenger had their bare feet resting on the window sill (protruding out of the car) as they were driving down south street, heading west....

Nice one, Darwin's ghost must have been on the rampage......

I'm astounded as to how often people rest their feet on the dashboard while they're a passenger in a car..

Jai, The West, letters to the editor. Do it. I'd love to see the responses.

Driver training saves lives, revenue raising doesnt.

You have to be tryn pretty hard to kill your self in the city, its really easy in the country.

Higher speeds, worse roads, less cops to deter DD, bigger trees and fatigue...

Driving under the influence of drugs aint that much of a prob IMO, Drive past the hundreds of pubs about the state right now (friday after work) and you will find that most of them are quite full and most of the patrons will be driving home 2nite. In comparison the amount of ppls driving this evening who are on drugs would fit in just one of those venues.

EDIT: My girlfriend often rests her feet on the dash of my car on the PS airbag and it bugs the shits out of me!! If, for some reason, the airbags go off shes copping a knee at full force to her pretty little head... perhaps I should try and find some pics on the net to show her what It would look like... wont be pretty any longer...
