Unfortunately you've learned an important lesson the hard way, I'm pretty sure most on here have had a few hairy moments in the wet with a car we're not used to. Pay your excess, chin up and get back on the roads as soon as you can, and yeah driver training asap. Most important thing is you and your friend are alright.

Btw.... damage doesn't look too severe and as long as the chassis rail isn't too far warped it could be repairable.

Sad when inexperienced drivers drive high powered cars.

Still go do the defensive driving course next weekend at AHG in the skidpan cars. It will help you.

Glad your ok... Shame about the wrx... I could have kept my hatch and bought your running gear... Shame

The people that were there don't seem to think it would be repairable.

Great end to my holidays

Thanks for the msgs
The defensive driving course may have helped, and I would suggest that you should still do it, aside from teaching you techniques for recovering skids, and improving driving skills, it also gives you more confidence and makes you less likely to panic in the same situation.
Ive done the defensive driving course, and I can say from personal experience from driving afterwards, it is REALLY WORTH IT.

But in the end, a car is replacable, and as you said, your insured, while you might be guttered, it could have ended ALOT worse.

The car doesnt look too bad, as long as theres no chassis damage, it should be repairable.

Hopefully we will see you back in your car soon, and if not that one, another rexie.
Good to hear you and your friend werent badly hurt

Could have been much worse, just have a read of the other thread. Its only a car, it will be repaired or replaced, important thing is you and friend are alive.
