Yar. In the wet you have to drive slowly because AWD just means you will get into trouble at a faster speed.

Driver training would have been a good thing to do ASAP after getting your first rex. The wet skidpan stuff really helps you out mentally so that you don't panic.

Having said that there are situations where no driver training would make a difference and pure luck determines whether you make it our not. I know because i have slid sideways up a freeway onramp with no steering at about 60kph after aquaplanning on oil/water and luckily didnt hit anything.

Condolances on your car but your alive and your friend is too which is great.

Was actually suspose to be doing the defensive driving course next weekend sometime... not anymore. But even if i had have done a course i don't think it would have been any different can never say that for sure, but in the situation just panicked.

Wasn't doing anything dangerous, wasn't being stupid, always careful in the wet, just lost control

The people that were there don't seem to think it would be repairable.

Great end to my holidays

Thanks for the msgs

Dammm Glad all is fine with you and your friend. Cars are repairable / replaceable Humans lifes arnt. Strange the airbags didnt go off must have not hit hard enough or hit in the right place. I'm sure when you get a replacement WRX you will be very nervous to drive again after being in a crash is does scare the crap out of you and makes you never to want to drive again. Hope all goes well with insurance. Cheer up there even THE STiG crashes cars that are worth half a million dollors or more so no one is perfect.
