Yeah seen a few cars pulled over for sitting in the right hand lane. And to be honest, every single one of them deserved it (nothing in left hand lane, police bike sat behind them for quite a distance - bingo you are busted).

Problem with Perth roads is no one is ever taught about the 'overtaking lane' idea. Instead so long as you are sitting under the magical speed limit in any lane, people feel safe and secure.

I'd really like to see the police ping more people for traveling too slow on the freeway. Nothing irks me more than people who don't like driving on the freeway, so they sit at stupidly low speeds. They don't realise this causes more problems.

What people of Perth need to realise is if you don't like a certain road or don't feel confident in driving - Don't do it!

I know what you mean. People in perth do not understand "keep left".
and very rarely actually look in their mirror to see the jam they are
causing.

On my last trip to sydney I noticed that they keep left on the roads, but
also "keep left" in escalators in the train stations. Now thats what I
call being organised.

We just have to accept our fate in Perth as drivers because nothing has changed in my 20 years of driving here and doubt it ever will.

I also put it down not just on bad drivers and bad attitudes, but absolutely shocking road design.

In every other country I have driven in freeways / motorways / highways don't have as many merge points, reduction and expansion in lanes, exits on the right lanes, lack of signage or have to have inside knowledge to be in a certain lane to get you somewhere. We have major intersections with absolutely no merge time (for example, Roe Hwy going on to Freeway South - Roe Hwy merges into 1 lane, then that one lane needs to merge onto the Freeway. Brand new intersection has a traffic jam every day - Piss poor effort).

If you drive the full length of our freeway (Mitchell and Kwinana - Sure they have 2 names, but they are 1 freaking road) I think only 1 lane actually goes the length. All the others disappear in merges (or worse is the bus lane merging with the right hand lane at Mill Point Road!) or become exits.

All of these points lead to people crashing, road rage, erratic lane changes and speeding. Surely if we can spend billions on a train line, lets spend a few bucks making the roads flow properly.
