It ain't a twin scroll.
Pistons are not true forged (on good authority), but probably hypereutectic.

the wrx's come with a different gearbox housing also, different clutch slaves and a different push clutch assembly.

Saw the full range last night. I reckon the new front looks hawt!! I think the debate about the pistons will probably rage on much like the version 6 STI piston debate did. For my money they are a hypereutectic piston and not a true forged piston. But I dont think you will ever get a straight answer out of Subaru. Have to wait till one of the new owners screws too much boost into it and makes it go bang!!!! and it gets pulled apart.

At the end of the day, tune it sensibly, run a knocklink, and all should be good.

Hopefully organise a drive next week....

Why all the debate about hypereutectic pistons, surely they are no worse than a std wrx piston ? and my thing has run 18 psi night and day without any probs.

My point exactly. If you tune it sensibly, run sensible boost and provide all the supporting mods, you have no issues. Not even forgies will save you if it has a shite tune and is pinging its head off.

Sorry Bruce,

didn't pop the bonnet and have a look. Am off to the official launch on Monday night so I am sure all the specs will be clear by then. Not considering it a car I would upgrade to so really didnt have the interest to ask all of the poignant questions. But the general feedback I got from the tech guys at STI is that it should be a nice improvement over the 05 and not purely the engine.
