Pretty sure it is one of the HI power BMW only has 2 Pot Slide type calipers ( May have been a year or two back I was surprised to read it anyway ). My Preferance would be for 4 Pots but if BMW can make the system work well enough to satisfy people paying well into the 6 figures for a performance sedan then I don't see why Subaru cant make it work well enough for a $40000 dollar car.

I did replace the 2 pots on my MY98 with 4 pots and yes it was better but I think a lot of that was also improved rotors and pads.

Remember the WRX is not the top model in the line up. Great car but the STi is where it is at if you want ALL the fruit.

Current model WRX: 290mm disc with 4 piston caliper
MY08 WRX: 330mm disc with 2 piston caliper

thats a much bigger chunk of swept area. the pedal feel would be slightly worse (fuck all) and the pads would wear ever so slightly unevenly, but the brakes themselves are definately not a downgrade. hopefully Subaru SI Drive kicks in something similar to the Evo traction modes... a "gravel" mode that fucks the ABS off would be awesome

The ceramic discs on a porka are a ~$25k option... doubt BMW's would use them

Memo from GC8 owners living in the past and scared of any changes?

Im going to cop a lot of flack for that one haha.

Ive owned both GC8's and newer GD's.

In my opinion the newer models excluding the bugeye are still legends and are much better than the GC8's

But seriously i think all wrx's are legendary cult cars (except bugeyes)
and the new 08 just destroyed its continuation of that status for now.

Ps: I still love the GC8's , so for those owners about to blast me
take a couple of deep breaths and let it go as I was just joking
