AHG is Automotive Holdings Group, they own a lot of car dealerships and also run a driver training course and fund a track.

Targa West is a tarmac rally held annually (which you may remember last year as it was Brockies last race RIP), there is also Targa Tasmania, which is similar but located in Tasmania

Dutton Rally is a national rally series. See website for more information (http://www.duttonrally.com)

driver training - they tutor you in the finer arts of driving a car properly.

and fund a track - being a large company, they also help finance the race track.

The AHG centre has two large tarmac skid pans and a small "race track" although racing is not allowed, only time trials. This means that you won't find cars side by side on the track although sometimes two cars can be at opposite ends of the course.

Dutton rally is a series of timed Autokhanas and sprints added together to find the driver/drivers with the lowest total time as the winner. It's open slather as far as vehicle modificaions go, and safety requirements are minimal. This is what makes this even apealing to most.

Targa events are run under the strict policies of C.A.M.S. road events regulations. Very tight rules as far as modified cars are concerned (though I often wonder if some cars even get scrutineered) It's a true road rally conducted on closed public roads. Expect to spend upwards of $15,000 plus car to do it once. potentially Half a mill required to win.

Cars aren't scrutineered for eligibility.

They should be. I saw a few cars that had mods outside the rules. Dunno if it's ignorance or blatant cheating but IMO it's not on. CAMS wouldn't allow Chris Caruso's V8 Jag to compete because of a non standard engine........

They should develop a full competition class similar to (M4 for the rally cars )to cater for vehicles out side of the specified vehicle list or that have other modifications that dont fit M1,M2 or M3. But then do you allow them to feature in the outright results?? Would be great to see some old WRC Tarmac cars compete.
