That question is incredibly vague..

Depends what model STi, what model GTR, mods, and situation....you want the winner for best fuel economy, drag racing, track, interior comfort, reliability, parts availability, modification potential or what??

In general, stock vs stock, GTR will outrun STi in a straight line, every time...according to a magazine I have here, R32 and R34 GTRs run 13.0 standard, with the R33 running 13.1 standard.

Although an STi has incredible tuning potential, the GTR can run deep into the 12s with very few mods.

Everything else is comparable IMHO.

oh dont kid yourselves fools. GTR34 is the KING. but that's for those with $$. the rest will need to make do with the lowly WRX.

Having owned an R33 GTR, in stock form they are not that quick, especially off the line in 'normal' traffic. Stock against one of the quicker STI's (V5/V6) I think it would come down to the driver. GTR's have a lot longer legs and will walk away towards the top end, but i'm more impressed with the STi's low end quickness...

Once Mods start getting done the difference starts to get bigger in the R's favour...

Cheers

I guess to be fair to myself, one of the GTR's is a 34 with over 300kw ATW and all the handling and braking fruit to go with it, the other is a 33 GTR with over 400kw ATW and all the rest of the fruit. This guy absolutely smashes me at the track. Is great to see this thing go!!
