Finally got around to buying and fitting the rail. Ended up getting maximums to fit it as I was getting some other work done. Apparently it took a bit of messing around with and a couple of small mods were needed but the cost was minor and I know its been done properly.

It's definetly made an improvement to the seating position. Its not a huge drop in the seat height but would be a good 20mm. The first thing I noticed was the change in angle of my left leg in relation to the clutch pedal. Feels less like I'm driving a 4WD and more like a sports car. Feels like I'm sitting in the car now and not on it. The true test will be when I'm wearing a helmet though.
I forgot to take some photos before it was fitted but below are some pics of it fitted.

Some pics of the passenger side for comparison.

After doing it has it made a noticeable improvement?

I too suffer from the no room when wearing a helmet, but wasn't sure if this would be enough.

Looks good. Be interesting to see how far from the roof it brings you.

Haha has anyone hear if this could be used to raise a seat slightly. I'm a short shrimp and cause of the bucket seats i have to sit correctly postured instead of casually slouched. good for the posture, but causes cramps on long journeys.

Its lowered the seat enough to make a noticable difference. Haven't worn a helmet with it yet but my head is definetly further from the roof and my line of site is lower. I'm now at the same eye level as my much shorter fiance if she's in the passenger seat. My next trip to Collie will the test as in the past I've head butted the roof badly on the bumps braking into the chicane.

You're welcome to have a sit in it if you're ever at an upcoming IWRXOC event/meeting or the WRX vs EVO day.

Was about $400 delivered from Japanparts.com (see first post). Don't know of any that allow the seat to go further back. I'm tall but I sit close to the steering wheel and dont have a problem with the seat travel.
