Not to contradict Lebrunt, but i think it was even $1.40 for every $1! I might remember wrong though..

And apparently the Air Race might not be in Perth after 2-3 more years as well. Not confirmed but it's all just talk.

AND we lost the Gravity Games too a year or so back.

Now we really are gonna become Dullsville

But otherwise, I do keep up with the WRC. Lets hope Subi are onto a winner with the hatchback!

Have been following & watching rally since mid 70's....and right through the fantastic Group B era, always hoping WRC would come to OZ...which it finally did in 1988. Since then, until 2006, went to every Rally Aust except 1996 (when I was in Europe & went to Prodrive instead!).
Very sad it's all gone now as I have many friends in SWRT & it was always good to catch up with them...and watch the rally too!

There's a good reason i've loved imprezas since i was a kid :P

Can't recall it now... Something about a locally held event? Sneaking out to non-spectator stages to see the good stuff? Can't really remember now, it seems to have moved on

Rally still thriving in WA though, thank god.

wouldnt be a great loss if the Air Race went to Sydney.

honestly, its not that exciting...Also Sydney would be a better venue, be a good party atmosphere and they might fly under the bridge, its big enough..

As for the Rally, yeah its a shame but now I have a good excuse to go to Qld on holidays...: )

Well maybe not thriving, but it still exists here. The WA state championship has some good cars and drivers, Not WRC but still worth a look. You will have to travel a bit further but you won't be greeted by the WRC spectator Nazis either.

do i follow WRC? Have been to two of the last three events Wales GB 07 and Monte Carlo 08. Hopefully Rally Finland and Germany mid-year! Monte Carlo was an absolutely amazing experience, the best rally I have been to. And may have just timed it right, its not a WRC round as of next year and may not return to the principality.
