Adrian...all the guys in SWRT reckon Rally Finland is THE one to go to...so bust yer arse to get there!

I still dont quite understand where all the 1000's of rally fans went after the loss of Rally Australia in WA. As Doug stated in his post that the "WA Rally Championship" is there sill simmering along but could do with a boost in spectator support.

WA has the most experinced rally officials and organisers in the country who put on the best events wether they are ARC or WARC or Targa West, and we have the opportunity to make the WARC a fantastic series to watch all year. The only thing missing is the spectators...

I think with the growth in the states economy, and the amount of people starting to get involved in motorsports (i.e. Targa West, Dutton, AHGSeries) there is a great opportunity to develop the level of rallying in WA. By mixing in a few Tarmac rally's with the gravel rally's in the WARC would be a great way getting new competitors and boosting entry numbers in local rally's.

WA should lead the way with a multi-surface state rally championship like the rest of the world do. This would make fantastic spectating just as Jester mentioned in his post "check out the Irish Tarmac Rally championship or British Rally Championship's to see the result."

Thats the end of my rant.... See you at the Forest Rally

Adrian you luck bastard, did you get up the Col de Turini? (the most famous rally stage in history )
It's a pity the rule makers seem to have overlooked the fact that some of us would ideally like to use the same car for targa and WARC. Vastly different rules for each series mean it's not simpy a suspension change, but gearbox, turbo, tune, brakes, exhaust, wiring loom, air filter.......and the list goes on.

does WARC get any media attention? i think that might be a major issue, the fans of the WRC might just not even know it exists. plus the WRC cars themselves are a HUGE attraction

I was about the fifth car that got stopped by the police road block to limit spectators at the Col on Sunday. Caught some other very good spectator points on the Sunday followed by the harbour Monaco stage and a bit of chat to Chris after his podium. I did one better than watching the Turini though, I actually drove it after I landed in Nice on the thursday

My brother and I have always been into WRC so we are a bit pissed about loosing it as we both would take a week off work and go to as many stages as possible, Muresk being the favorite.
He is off to NZ for the rally this year unfortunately I won't be able to join him..... damn work.....

Just watched Argentina, super unlucky for Solberg, must have been cut up over coming second and then all over with electronic failure 20km's from the end.

2nd for Atko again though.

When's the new car get here?

I'm thinking how much this new car will change things for SWRT i.e. may lose current form, having to develop and get their head around the new car in rally/race conditions. Just as they seem to be getting a handle on the piggy
Though they have been testing the new betty a fair bit, correct?
