Michael South is adamant that a GD will be faster than a GC with the same engine despite the 180kg weight penalty. If you are not familiar with michael south he is the one that built tony sullens car that won targa tassie in 07 and 03. Another thing to think about is that even the last of the gc's is now getting on for 9 years old. Agreed a race car will only do a couple of thousand k a year so as long as you replace with new gear each time you will be ok. Brendon

Dutton Rally is proof that the above isnt quite true... GC8's have been a force to be reckoned with.

The GD body shell IS better and if you can find one for the right price then by all means jump on it. I seem to remember Prodrive saying the basic shell was 140% stiffer along with lots of other improvments. But from where I', sitting, if you want to go Subaru, GC8 is still bang for buck
