motec does fly by wire, motec does AVCS, motec does TGV, motec does, wideband/narrowband, motec does everything and more compared to the factory ecu. motec will drive an 06.

OK...straight from Motec themselves....the OE pnp will NOT work on the MY06 STi. The upgraded version (mid next year will).
Yes a standard (non OE) Motec box (eg M800 non OE) will do the job BUT would need to be wired into the car...in other words, cut off the standard plugs and re-wire the harness to fit the standard Motec box...which would be a bit of a pain, but if people want to go down that path, OK.

You can use the motec PnP board with the 06 fly-by-wire throttle with three jumpers, apparently.

Check out openecu.org for an ecutek work-alike. Remember, with ecutek you're just buying software, it effectively locks you into one dealer, and in Australia it comes with the added bonus of being supported by MRT. Ewww!

Geoff, you'd better talk to Motec direct mate, because that ain't what they're saying.
If people want to spend big $'s on Motec, then fine.
ECUTek is still pretty good value for money.

Thanks for all of your advice

The car is booked in next week to get the ECUTek 3 and T/B Exhaust at Maximums. May get the Fuel pump and intake too.

I will keep you posted on the results.

Cheers.

Fuel pump? What for? For a reflash? No need.
