Wonder if they are smart enough to disallow 'STI', or 'MR' for the Evo guys ..

It is intersting to note that STI and WRX are registered trademarks. However
the way it is applied to this situation it quite interesting. If someone
was to register CHRISTINE, then would it be denied on the basis that it included
the registered trademark STI ?

I have requested specific information from the DPI so let see what the official
policy is.

Further to this I feel that the use of the letters "WA" on all numberplates
is an infringement on trademark 953371 (see pic at bottom) and as such
all number plates must be recalled immediately.

If it is based on trademarks and the like, plates with WRX in won't be allowed as they have trademarked the word.

Now as for STi, it looks like just the symbol is trademarked

Just last week i got my plates for my new jappa import wagon (which is a Legnum VR4). The plates say "JDM VR4", white on black background, large format rear and narrow at the front. Interesting i never got picked up on it considering the plates state precisely the model of the car

Weird that the name "WRX" is trademarked...considering that Ping Golf use the word..
