Wouldn't be so much of an issue for you - I'd like some custom plates, but it's cop bait when you start having things which indicate you don't exactly have a stock car.

Rich, if a cop wants to do you for something, they will do you for something. Trust me, a almost stock VL with 16's and an exhaust had me pulled over and inspected heaps of times.

In the 1 year i been pulled over ever in my rex, it was because my car was stupidly low and was almost scrapeing on the floor as i drove. Was bound to happen.

Says the man who has no front number plate in his display pic
yeah yeah i know it was just through the tunnel...

Well if this is true than I think it's BS and I can't think of a reason why they'd be bringing that law in!

As for the VLs.. If i were a cop i'd pull up one no matter what it looked like There's stocker-looking ones particularly in Vic that will run 10's all day

id ring up again and ask some one els , they might have just been trying to get out of some work as i have found out before

example: i have plates that say LUKE , when i go my wrx 7 years ago i wanted to get them re done in white on black but was told NO you can only have the massive blue on white plates coz it is a private plate with a name on it .. so i just took there work on it.

now around 2 years ago some FUCK stole on of my plates of my car , i went in to the licence centre where i was told NOPE! cant get them replaced coz there is one floating around now we cant give you a new set we need to voide the plate number
being VERY pissed off at this as i have had the plates for 25 years (got them for my first b-day) i went and sopke to some one that looked like they gave a shit and he just re issued my plates no problem AND gave them to me in the colour i wanted

go figure hey! .. all i can say is goons will be goons

The fuzz just drive around, see plates, type it into their computer and see what comes up in the database.

If i was a cop, i'd be typing in all the custom plates i see driving around, then making a decision on whether i wanna pull them over or not, not just to check the car, but for any other possible offences that comes up.

When they are behind you, quite often you see them checkin you up on their computer. They have pretty high-tech gear in their cars these days.

I wonder what would come up if i typed in SPHOOLIN Should i pull him over .. Maybe i've just got a stupid idea where if you have standard looking plates, and a relatively sleeper spec car, you'll avoid detection somewhat.

I'm just thinkin advertising you've got some horses under the hood can be a bad idea, not just with police, but in carparks with vandalism/theft etc.
