Old story, cheap car, shit tires, wet road, too fast.

Happy to say the only time my car came round on me too far was when I had a rush of blood and decided to use the handbrake to turn a 90deg+ corner.
Those skidmarks on that roundabout are from my gf's old car (A red corolla too! :P ). It was wet, she was driving her clapped out fwd corolla like i drive my liberty in the dry, and she plough understeered through the roundabout, over the kerb and into one of the >> signs.
Needless to say, she doesn't drive like that in the wet anymore.

Damo.

by claiming from them i think the premium will still be the same next year because of the NCB protector.. would it?
Half right, the other half is fairy land...

<$1k no police report needed. >$1k you will need one - although they sometimes don't enforce this.
NCB is the fixed discount % - which is the only thing protected, your base premium still goes up after each claim - dependant on amount.

DONT file a claim with the cops, it equals instant careless driving ticket and 3 points off your licence. Mum mum ran up the back of a landcruiser in her lancer and she didnt bother getting it fixed for 2 months (minor damage). When she did the cost was 1200 bucks so she called the cops and filed a claim. 2 weeks later careless driving ticket and 3 points.

probebly too late now you posted it here though.

How have u got a 0$ excess? So you have no excess to pay whatsoever?

I'd be well tempted to just pay cash to fix it all

Yes Wai. Tell us how you get a $0 excess? I'm very interested in this. Unless you have it under one of your parents names and when you claim it, say it was your dad driving?

And i'd pay cash too if i was on my P's. Don't wanna have to go for the license test again. One of my friends had to go for the whole thing again (back when you only needed L's for 3 months - not sure what they do now) after a drink driving incident 3 days after getting his licence.
And another friend of mine (also on his P's) also had to go for it again after being in a 3 car pile up where he was the last car and it was not his fault (car pulled in front of the 1st car causing it to brake heavily). The friend of whom he crashed into the back of didn't have to go for his license again (also P plater).

i kerb'd my car the other nite, cept was nice angled ones not flat, so it glided up it, but yeah i had massive understeer, quite intresting to experience this where u think that your scooby can handle anything but u soon find out even it has its limits, backing off the accel help'd me, regain control, maybe a little too much as i nearly over corrected, but like people have been saying, do on a track/skidpan. Doing this in a road is stupid and reckless.

If he left a safe distance he would have been able to stop in time.
