No need to get too emotional dude!!! Sounds like u learnt a valuable lesson and have taken something from the experience.

Least u didnt crash into your girlfriends car while it was being driven by her...................

Even worse than being bagged out on the internet

i thought my statement was fairly self explanatory...

When you boost hard around corners, there is an increased risk of breaking traction. obviously this is more prevalent with RWD cars. Seemingly this is what happened to Wai...no?

Doesn't mean that you have to granny it around every corner.

There's slightly more to it than keeping off boost around corners...wai couldve just been going too fast for that particluar corner...you can experience chronic understeer going around a corner using no throttle at all.

Get out onto a skid pan, turn off the electronic talent (DCCD/A) and really get a feel for it and have some fun. I am sure it will do great nuts, and I am sure there will be plenty of encouragement from the onlookers.

But sorry to hear you binned your car. Happens to the best of us.... There really is alot to be said for all the excellent driver training and motorsport available on tap in Perth. It really does improve your ability to cope with hairy situations.

There is definately a time and a place to test the outer limits of your car and suburban streets full of people, kerbs, trees, poles etc are probably not the best place to start...not to say I havn't given it a good crack in the past. Kind of a case as do as I say not as I do

No that doesnt mean that you have to granny it around corners. Taking corners pre 3500rpm is quite simple, hold on a sec and i will go give it a try.

(5 minutes later)

Ok cool, i am back now, and guess what? Took the corner responsibly and surprise surprise no loss of traction and no damage to my $60k 06 STI that is not even a month old.

Precisely, who would have thunk it huh?
