Rear wiper usually means its a jdm car, unless he fitted it himself.
Only other problem is,,,,,,, all jdm's have rear wipes (wrx and sti's)
Jdm sti's my99/00 are only available in (WR blue, black, white, silver) I think.

Mine is the same, I have an Aug 99 wrx but it is classed as a MY00. So mustve been july/august when they started making the following years model.

I saw what i believe to be a WRCBlue-coloured my99/my00 up here in Kalumunda today as I was passing the pub. I thought at first that it was ust an STi wanna-be (like mine) coz it had the right STi stickers, badges and fog light covers. But what sealed it was seeing the rear window wiper! from memory the V5 MY99 (2 door) and the V6 MY00 (4 door) aussie STi's had the rear wiper. V5 was coloured white and blue, v6 was coloured white and steel grey. I dont *think* the V6 came in blue. Its also possible to retro fit the wiper, or it may have been a B reg.

Curious, another stupid question here, is the manufacture date on the passenger rear side door? Im asking as while cleaning the car one day i came across a 'build date jan 99' and the car was sold to be as a my00 that was made in oct... its even rego'd as it.

Somethings telling me ive been screwed... but it doesnt change the feeling i have about the car

Could it read Jul instead of Jun? chances are it wasn't complied in time? can't quite make it out from your avatar, do you have colour coded door handles?

jdm ver6 came in blue also

so many differnant models lol

best colour has to be the v3 sti type r yellow thinks its canary yellow or is that the v6 yellow?? either the v3 yellow is lovely!!!

Nah its been the handels and skirts have been colour matched im sure... the paints starting to come off and its black underneath

For what it's worth the first delivery of MY99's came plated "Built Date July 98" / Reg/Vin Plate: 8/98.
Check the number on the ECU and this will confirm it. They differ from the 99, not that I can remember which was what...

stupid question: what is "jdm"?

I have the rear wiper on my 99-00 sti and the motor for the water spray is dicked but so far i havent been able to get one and Subaru tell me its because they dont have rear wipers apparently mine is a figment of my imagination.
