Have you checked the resistance on all your ignition leads? Make sure they are all reading the same ( easily done with a multimeter ). If one is slightly high it could be breaking down under load, ie, with the aircon on or under throttle.
It's coil on plug, no leads.

Booked in at RMS for Leigh to take a look at next Wednesday.

Car was almost undriveable yesterday, for a bit - Was breaking down under any load on the motor at all - 10 minutes later it was all sweet again.

Drove to work today not a problem at all.

How did you go at RMS?

Spoke to Ken @ RMS on the phone for a bit who was in the same mind-set as me, it could be anything. Would have to get Leigh to log the values coming from the ECU. However, you'd have to get the car to do it first!

Didn't feel like spending hundreds of dollars worth of their time for them to come back and say everything is running fine. Which is what i would have suspected to happen as the car has been rock solid for 3 weeks now without and issue on boost and at WOT at all.

This is leading me to believe that the problem is Brant related - The car is a MY01 which was 'optioned' with a Brant alarm system. If it starts to do it again I will replace the alarm system in it's entirety.

But yeah, the car has been fine for 3 weeks, no signs of hesitation, bad idle, stumbling, missfiring nothing. So i am a happy chappy again! I suspect that if we were able to catch it in the act you'd probably be seeing the ECU just turn off or some kind of ignition fault.

Having said all that - There is no indication to prove that it's the Brant, there was no beeping sounds or anything like that when it did it. So it's still somewhat of a mystery at this point.

my mate has a 02 WRX, has been experiencing similar issues for a while,

he finally got a CEL the other day - happened to be TGV sensor and cam sensor related.

Cool, yeah it's a weird on in my case.

Intially it was a flat spot/hestitation/miss up top, then it kinda developed into a bad idle/stall .. then it was a really ugly when accelerating, and back to tip top now!

Still no ECU Codes/CEL's depite it happening several times with a ScanGauge plugged in. Absolutely zero information to pin point it a specific part of the car. Only way forward would have been a full on laptop with logging.

I wish i could have been able to identify it, we'll see how we go, it may come back, but 3 weeks without any problems at all is the longest it's got in a while. It could have been really shit fuel? But it went through 5+ tanks of Ultimate 98 from around the Cannington area, maybe it took a while to clean it all out ..

Still a guessing game broski :) .. Ohe thing is 100% certain though, it aint the spark plugs.

I guess that problem seems to be sorted ,it is time for those rear brembo brakes !! :p

God damn! Was driving home, gave the throttle a little blip and i felt a miss, sure enough when i came to halt it almost stalled.

Gave it a bit of thottle and it was rough. Plugged the ScanGuage in, nothing, everything looks the goods.

Turned off/on again and it's gone .. but for how long! :)

I could have sworn i could smell hot electronics somewhere though when it was playing up, do you think it's the Brant system? ..

Name me an alarm system to replace it, and who can install it for me ..

What injectors / fuel pump are you running?
