2 and a half minutes before i go anywhere, otherwise things just dont drive right eg. the acceleration is stuttery. 2 and a half minutes is not that long and I am usually running in to the house to get things I forgot anyway.

I used to do the start and drive. Early starts - 4am and me trying to keep neighbours from complaining = spun big ends after constantly doing it, plus a bit of abuse was an MY98, had 80k on it
Now I let it warm for a minute and drive miss daisy till temp is up in the MY05

idle for a couple of minutes, then drive for about 5 mins no boost

Start up, wait about 10 seconds then ease clutch out in reverse down drive way then ease out of first using no throttle and then drive easy.. all u need

Much the same as everyone else.

Start the car then Granny Shift till it hits operating Temp then Drive it like you Stole it.

WHITEMY08 05-12-2008 09:08 PM

It varies..... depends on how long it takes the missus and kids to get their arse's in the car.

Me - 30 Second warm up in the garage, then on the road taking it very easy til temps up to normal, then its chop chop time :)
My Wife - Fangs the crap out of it from the get go cause she's usually always late for something cause of the little ones. :(

GX-REX 05-12-2008 09:42 PM

I start and drive straight away, keeping under 3g's till its warm. Dunno if its normal or not but I have noticed my car seems to have a slight rattle to it until its warmed up. Hoping its normal anyway...

I just take it easy until it's up to operating temp, by the time I get it out of the shed, close the roller door by hand, get back in and go it'll have been running for enough to get some sort of meaningful temp into the oil and away I go. On the way home it's take it easy for a few minutes from home and switch off basically straight away.
