Also please note the B-Rego rules have gotten tighter in recent times, so you might want to check that before you get excited about importing a race car if you want to drive it to and from events on rego.

My thinking is I could easily drop 20K into the 08 STI but I would have a car I dont want to brake as I need day to day, so why not drop the money into something I can use to improve as a driver and then in a couple of years if I am so inclined drop bigger $ into a project (or someone elses).

Betty won't break if you do it right....the only real weak point is the engine but that can be fixed once and for all with forged pistons, rods and studs! Don't waste your time going back to Subaru!!!

Mine is a DD and set up to be reliable on the track all day!

+1 S202 for exclusivity or later model Spec C.

perhaps something other than subaru?? just a thought...might end up cheaper if you're only going to learn rally driving and then go for something bigger/better

price reduced from a few weeks ago, you couldn't even come close to replicating that for the money and it would be an ideal starter...it wouldn't take much to convert it into tarmac spec...1100kilos! yeah baby

or the other end of the spectrum,

Both those cars are awesome and I have drooled over them both over the last week. The sold peanut STI I would definately have bought at $25k.

They way I feel about Betty right now she will be dumped in a year and I'll steal the wives Lib Sti and get her something better (non Subaru).
