I just got back this morning from Welshpool Inspection center. I got the oldest guy there with the thickest glasses. I thought I was gonna get raped. And yet...I cleared the yellow sticker first go with no problems despite the extensive modifications.

Take it up to Osbourne Park, Should be able to get through with the cage and HID's on that car, Also if it still has the semi slicks, I suggest you borrow a set of road rims with decent tyres. As for the cage remove the seatbelts from the rear and try and run it over like that, I know it has no backseat. And make sure the Harness' are either taken out or tucked away/ tied up with cableties.

Yea cheers. I removed the rear seatbelts and harness. Even tucked in the boost controller (was on the fuse box cover) so its hidden and turned it off so its at stock boost :P How'd you know its got hids?

Other things Im worried about is the catch can thing thats near the bonnet (oil splashing), FMIC with bonnet scoop, bonnet vent, no reverse light, non reclinable seats (sparco sprints), shit load of mods needing permits, coilovers, slight bubble in tinting.

you should be right with the fmic,
coilovers are fine as long as they're not too low afaik?

and can someone please advise me what to do with my exhaust, if everything else checks through and my exhaust is still my 3"TBE with loud goodness, will i pass?

if not, what shall i do to rectify my exhaust situation?

The FMIC isnt the problem, its having the bonnet scoop as well which Ive heard can be an issue because of the odd chance that oil could get onto the windscreen. TMIC seal off the rest of the engine bay. But I'll see how it goes.

First bit: There is no definitive answer for this. Obviously, there is a rated dB reading, (based on distance and subsequent RPM for each engine/car), however, <apparently> an inspectors 'calibrated ear' can do this measurement more accurately....

Second bit: If you're worried about it, (as I was), borrow a stock one and swap it out for the day. Takes bugger all time to do, and revert.

Brent.

When to Welshpool 2x when my car got sticked failed 2x for exhaust was still too loud and car was "too low"
but dad when the 3rd time pass no probs.....they didnt even check any of the previous "problems" all done in aobut 15mins.
Get your parent to take your car over pits...nothing better to do his 1/2 retired lol

im going through all this at the moment but using the midland one. its going back over tomorrow @ 11am 100% totally stock so no reason it shouldn't pass, even if its got a belly full of ethanol!

raised the front teins, put standard leaf springs in the back, ripped the tint off and put the standard exhaust on. it failed because of the rear sway bar (utes don't come with factory fitted swaybars) and the nizpro kit, eventhough it has been passed as full ADR compliant...what a joke. so now, standard wheels back on, nizpro kit and swaybar removed so it should pass.

im not sold on full permits, its really at the discretion of the officer to turn around and go, here's a yellow regardless...which does happen. i will get everything full engineer approved, takes about 5-8 weeks and around 500 or so and then play that card when my blue pulls you over!

i still don't understand how you can get pulled over 20+ times for various licence and rda's or whatever and then takes one power hungry fuckhead to give you grief. fair enough before being pulled over you acted like a dickhead but nooooo "nice car mate, a bit low there". in reply, nice head dickhead a bit empty!

FYI ims240 on 85 is a breeze with aftermarket exhausts, even catless!
