If I was just looking for a capable and luxurious hatch then the S3 would be my choice out of the two but I would kick myself for not buying a Golf R32.

If I was looking for something a bit more hardcore that will do a few trackdays then I would buy the STI and then kick myself for spending used euro barge money on an Impreza.
