Yeah I vote Kelford 272 cams, and I'd get them from NZ, free freight plus under $1000 Australian so there isn't that tax on them.
EDIT: Oh the ones from Vision R come with the valve springs too, I'd go there

Any plans to do up clutch n gear box with power in excess of 300 hp? how much could a standard gear box and lets say, a subaru heavy duty clutch handle?

He has a doggie anyway but a stock box can handle plenty if it driven with some mechanical sympathy............i.e slip launched and never clutch dumped.......there's plenty that are happy with 250+ at the hubs.

on the subject of cams, it was suggested by previous owner of my car that cams be the next step in the quest for more power, how restrictive are RA cams? much difference to GC STi cams or even standard GC cams?

cheers for the assist eric, just on numerical difference i guess there is a bit of difference to say 272 cams....i shall investigate further
