I dont actually know of anyone running LPG in a wrx or Sti mate. Not saying it cant be done - but yeah, cant even recommend someone to talk to to get the good word...
My opinions would only be hearsay. Brent.

It can be done and has been done with comparable horsepower
here is a thread from awhile back on the topic http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/mechanicals/6444-can-you-install-lpg-system-ej20s.html also some info on rexnet and other forums if you are really serious about it and want to search a bit http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk/index.p.../LpgConversion

We did a gas research LPG carb conversion to an RX-3 running a 13b bridge port yonks ago......worked o.k, made good power but had a limited range (150Km) due to the size of tank that was used (or would fit).
Lpg is touted to have a RON equivalent to 102 - 110....The problem is the calorific value of LPG is some 20% lower than that of petrol...you burn 20% more to achieve the same power as petrol....No need for intercooling though! There used to be a Ford Capri running at the drags with LPG multipoint efi.... from memory the injectors had to be heated with coolant to stop them freezing open. Heres a Ford, T04, gas research draw through carbs:
