The boost is 1.5 bar, but there is an issue with the waste gate creeping/fluttering.

With the VF28 it made 240hp @ 5750rpm and 326 Nm of torque @ 4250 rpm.

cheers

vf28 was around 1.4 bar?

I'm just interested to see the similarity/differences of a vf28 compared to my vf29 (241/358 @ 1.35 with stock top mount & airbox).

My Peak hp was about the same, around 5600, peak torque was about 3800-3900.

P.s I love how flat the torque curve is between 4250 - 5250 with the twin scroll, mine loses nearly 40 nm over the same rpm.

The graphs don't show the difference in how the car drives now, with the twin scroll it is always ready to hit boost, the drive-ability of the car is sensational now, plus it's quiet now, real sleeper mode

I'm also not sure how the 6 speed would be affecting things on the 'graph' side of things...

Heat soak > Water Spray > fixed.

With the STi TMIC+factory airbox+VF37+1.55bar, my STi cranked out ~280hp & 420Nm & was an absolute blast to drive. It was the quickest set-up too.

I'd seriously reconsider the FMIC & go with a 08STi TMIC & water spray if you're 'that' worried about heat soak. Personally, I think the whole heat soak issue is a bit over-rated - I use to touch my TMIC straight after completing multiple laps at Collie, etc, & it was COOL - yes it heated up when parked, but then I used the out lap & water spray to cool it down before sticking the boot in.

Yes it suffers on the dyno, but it you want a high reading dyno sheet, spray it between runs.

(Sorry for ninja edit ^^)

Nice fat flattened torque peak like that would be fun to drive without doubt!

It sure is fun to drive, 6 speed is perfect for street driving, with a dose of WOT now and then.

This intercooler debate does my head in, you lose the strut brace if you go Sti TMIC!!

cheers

With your front mount plans, do you plan on moving the battery and holesawing vertically through those plates either side of the radiator?

I'm already running the upsy-daisy Greddy core, but the pipe work is ridiculous, longer than a rightway up core...

Lose the brace (or fit a whiteline one)..... I'm running 1.7 bar with the GD Sti topmount now, where as I was limited to 1.4 with the Version 6 stock cooler due to lack of flow/ high temps.

the subaru factory strut brace is purely decorational wank, especially on a GC8.

they break very easily and would do somewhere between f@#kall and nothing for chassis stiffening.

the strut bar fitted to the S402/R205 etc is actually intentionally flexible too.
