The keypad connects to the Brant module via basic telephone type cable.

Its never usually the keypad thats faulty as thats just some LEDs behind some numbers.

The Brant module is what needs to be replaced.

+1 but I recommend our resident alarm/stereo install guru member Macey
aka "Bumpstop" as he's done awesome work on a multitude of members cars
and show cars in Perth including my S204.

He works at Westside Sound & Image in Cannington send him a PM or
call him at the number below.

The Brant module is a relatively cheap part to replace.
City Subaru is the place to go...they apparently have THE Brant expert in WA...

FIXED!!! i've had my brant security system completely removed and for the better!!
took it to alberts car audio and asked for the security system to be bypassed. when i picked it up today the guys said they had to remove the whole system bordering on a duty of care issue and presented me with a bag of shitty cabling all twist and taped and heavy guage wires that turns into light guage, all courtesy of "Action Alarms - Ocean Reef" the technician said, quote "if this was in my car i would cry." and to think that someone put that into a brand new MY06 before its first owner, seriously.......some people need a good hard look at themselves.

i was actually suggested to contact action alarms to fix it in the first place. firstly, the guy never answers his phone. then second.....he answered his phone on saturday morning rudely and said i'd have to call back monday. third, i called monday and explained my predicament, he cut me off mid sentence and said "can i call you back in 5." i'm still waiting on that call. someone has a guilty conscience!!!!?????? PS, he was a thorough wanker.

So many thanks to Perth-WRX and its peeps for the help which has got my sexy wrexy back on the road again!

so thanks to Brant security systems, Action alarms, and subarus decision to employ them, i have spent $150 on removing the system, $80 on fault finding at mechanics, hire car courtesy of my $250 per year RAC membership, $100 for the hire car insurance and airport tax, 4 hours leave i have had to take to deliver and pick up my car, and taking my girlfriend to work 35kms out of my way to work at 5:50am each morning in 5 degress.......... thanks a bunch!
