Default Turbo upgrade for v6 STI?

Hi all,
I recently bought a 2000 v6 sti, it has had a fair bit of work done but still the turbo is standard. It has:

Autronic ECU (anti-lag),

HKS front mount intercooler kit,

HKS 3" turbo back exhaust,

HKS SSQV BOV,

Oil catch can,

Bosch superflow fuel pump,

I went to race torque and they sugested I find a vf34, I have had a search around to see what other uses have chose but most are not this model. My goal would be around 300hp. Any help or sugestions welcome I'm here to learn.
Cheers!
-Trent

standard turbo is a vf28 or vf29. A vf34 is not much of an upgrade.

td05-20G will do 300hp with ease and it'll do it with not much more than 20psi.

or VF30 if you cant quite stretch to 34. Same same but 34 is roller bearing and 30 is bushed.

I have the same mods as you but a top-mount and I would recommend the 34 p18, plenty of balls and alot nicer to drive than if you go for some laggy monster turbo.. used to have the 330hp atw with front mount and big turbo.. yer ballsy but at 4k+ to redline not much fun to drive..

I would go for a drive in a couple of different setups before you commit to something and see what you prefer..

Yeah tommo that’s pretty much what I’m after. Where did you go to get yours done and what's she putting out now? I assume I should stay away from e-bay so what would be a good place to source new and used ones? Also Is there much difference from the v34 p18 and p20?
Sorry about the 20 questions but I'm still new to perth and the only place I've been so far is race torque.
Thanks for everyone’s idea's time for some research!

My work is all done at MMS, without a decent air intake and under manifold air intake its now putting out 190kw atw, also my turbo may be up for sale very shortly (contemplating returning it to std for sale) if you would like to come for a quick spin to see how it goes ect. your more than welcome to possibly purchase also..

I'll stick with thr fmic it seems to love it when anti lags on so should be good for the track etc. Anyone know how the td05-20G go? they seem pretty cheap.

Cheap, fast, reliable.

Choose two.
