Towed a 1400kg Caravan with my dad's XS and my XT to Margs you definitely know that the weight is there and so does your back pocket. Even more with the XT. Both used to pull our ally boat ~1000kg loaded with ease. 2.5 has torque but XS also has low range. Have you contemplated the new Diesel forester ? Can pick up some nice demos at the moment and they have a 1800kg tow capacity too. 2ton in Europe apparently. So the chassis can take it....

Turbo diesel hilux/rodeo etc would be my choice. Anyone want to sponsor a turbo kit for my 80 series?

I dont like the sound the diesel makes. Im sure the XT should be able to pull the boat.
