Default forrester talk

Hi all

I am looking at getting a forrester so I have a work horse. I have been looking at redbook and it says that the 2008 foz can only pull 1400kg braked. The 2006 foz can pull 1800kg braked. Does anyone know why this is. What is holding the 2008 back from towing more.

Cheers

Hey are you getting a MY08 (sg) or a MY09 (sh) because either way they are both 1400kg braked. However the SG is 720kg not braked and the SH is 750kg not braked. They are the load ratings from Subaru, hope thats not to confusing.

we are looking at both the MY08 & MY09. I'm not fussed with the non braked. The only thing I will really be towing will be braked.

Is it the engine or the brakes that are stopping it pulling more.

Just had a call back from subaru osborne park (sorry I forget your name).
I have been told that its the tow ball if you put the HD 50x50 the you will be able to pull about 1800kg if you have a manual. If you have the auto you will need the HD tow ball and a oil cooler.

Thanks heaps Subaru for the great service and getting back to me.

If you want a work horse, why are you getting a Forester?
