The cost of option 2 may make you look into option one in more depth.

More information needed for example is your current engine cactus, or have you already got a sweet deal in place regarding option two, are you able to do the work yourself or do you need to outsource, whats your budget, what sort of power gains are you looking for.

Always remember its fantastic to have a fast car but if it cant handle it smoothly whats the point?

Cheers,

It would depend on what you're trying to achieve.

Best to get an idea on what power output you want, what cams/turbo you want and hanging it all out there to see what peoples opinions are (i.e will she crap herself with the new parts and wanted gains).

But you're a god amongst men 'this needed to be factored into your comment', as you went back for more punishment?

With a correct tune, it could last quite a while. So many factors other than kms that will make it go boom.

Personally I would apply parts, tune, thrash, repeat until the engine lets go. So long as you aren't wanting a 600hp EJ205, you should be fine for a while. That lets you save up and get all the good motor parts you want rather than trying to do it all at once at the start.
