If you are using the car for work then consider the lease option I reckon.

I'm definately going the way of an STI... just want something low KM's so I can run it for 2-3 years.

i went and checked it out myself lastnite. they are keen to move it on and the price reflect this. been on the lot 7 weeks. both front wheels have small amout of gutter rash and the dealer misjudged a feature wall and has rhs skirt damage. apart from that its very plumb and great money.

As Wayne pointed out with that carsales ad 08 STi's be going for cheap (thats an ok example if you can get past the gutter rash/damage...me personally, no Id pay a bit extra for one thats undamaged).

Also like you said, if you are going to be doing just the basic stuff mod wise, exhaust, tune, springs, sways, etc, etc, the car will be very competitive for the money spent (as opposed to say a new stock 65k+ STI).

Could be a possibility since they are going to unveil the new shape Impreza later on in the year but I think but would most likely say Sept 2012 (MY13) for a completely new look as they've only really bought out the STi sedan shape not long ago and would need to pump out more to justify the plant changes they had to make for that shape (wide rears etc) if you get what I mean.
