So, out of curiousity does anyone know what information is displayed to the officers when they run someones plates before pulling them over?

Rego, Owner? and then after which they have to run the drivers details ?

Last night i was driving with my mate who holds a current manual license and the cop was interrogating him basically about wether or not it was an auto or manual license he held. Finally, after much debate he found his wallet down side the seat and produced his id. Needless to say the copper backed off pretty quickly, but this occurance just got me curious as to what other things aren't displayed that possibly should be.

Had this event occured tonight, the ammount of time it took to establish his license class would of made me miss my plane. So, just curious.. what is displayed?

I think they only do a check of Vehicle rego expiry and if car is stolen or not =\
Other info I believe they have to call into HQ?

Curious how stupid you need to be to get on this list, is it based on criminal conviction, increasing high drink driving/speeding/reckless driving etc?

yeah general hoon behavior. I suspect I have had 2 vehicles on the VOI list in the past.

As far as I know, they show vehicle owner's name, registration expiry and thats about all I think. Anything else needs to called thru.

You don't nessecarily have to have done anything wrong. Could mean your car was spotted near a crime - possible witness etc

I'm on that list. Got pulled over doing nothing wrong by the Traffic Enforcement group and was told I have bald tires, no mufflers on my exhaust, back neon tube was visible (herr derr neons), and he was then asking if my turbo was pulled back checking under the hood.
He chose not to sticker me but said he had put my car on the alert list, and tried to give me a $100 fine for the neon.

10 mins later he tells me he can't find the code to fine me so he just let me go lol...

It's pretty shit now, everywhere I go on a Friday/sat night I get pulled over for random license checks and shit. Plus followed for like 10kms if a cop sees me
