Question Aftermarket Warranty

Guys,

Thinking about purchasing another car but the Mrs wants me to get one with a warranty. Is there an "aftermarket warranty" company that sells warranties? Is it only worth the paper its printed on?

Also, anyone know what coverage the dealer warranty like AHG's 3yr/175,000km warranty actually covers IRL? Advice from someone who has actually had to claim on it and what they actually received would be nice.

Cheers,
jase

get a car with new car warranty - any other warranty is not worth the $1100 you pay for it, let alone the paper it's printed on.

What are you looking at getting Jase? fB me

The AHG warranty is a limited warranty. So they only give you so much for each part that need to be repaired. The figures for each I can't remember cause I didn't even bother with mine. As to keep the warranty the car has to be serviced at a AHG dealer, as I live up in Carnarvon there isn't a AHG dealer here so it wasn't easy to keep.

The AHG warranty covers $2000 per claim and unlimited claims for the life of the warranty, so its quite a good thing.
You do have to stick to the service schedule out lined in the warranty though and it does have to be serviced at any AHG dealership.
You really need to read the documentation to see what is and isn't covered.
It's as good as any other aftermarket warranty I think, but nothing is as good as new car warranty.

And remember that's $2000 'dealer costs'.

Weigh up if the cost for a 'warranty' (as you do pay for it) and the cost to maintain the 'warranty' is worth it over buying something newer with new car warranty or dealing with any breakages yourself.
