Guys, there is a question i'm curious about. Wit a stock gearbox, how far it could stand for a cluth? For example, i thought wit a super single plate or a twin plate, wit just blown up the gearbox tho

With the clutch in my car, drivability remains stock, not hard at all to take off (this is with a lightweight flywheel too) and the pedal requires the same effort to operate as stock. Darren

i run the same clutch as darren, with 410hp and 550nm torque (on vp109) i get a slight bit of clutch slip between 2nd->3rd (only cause im belting it) but 99.99% of the time it grips like hell.

Hey Julian do you know the damage on that bad boy you posted?
Anyone have any recommendations on 6 puck, brass or ceramic clutches? Do most clutches come with kits as an option? I want to up my pressure plate a little, do they need to be suited to the clutch or is it one size fits all. Riggs, do you know the details of your new one, sounds like a winner. Is it a full face or puck? I'm not really looking for anything super tough.. just enough to handle 350hp, 6k launches. Na.. I just want to get off the line with a little wheel spin, all my k’s are city so it needs to be drivable.

I'm running an MMS supplied 'Hybrid' clutch. It's between a full face organic and a button clutch. Holds fine on full house launches with antilag and drivability is almost on par with an full face organic plate. Not recommended for 5-speeds but perfect for anyone running a 6-speed.

I've got the same clutch as John^^^ did a heap of launches at a cone racing day without a prob but toward the end of the last cruise I did a huge launch crossing Tonkin on Welshpool Rd, slipped & stank like a pig but was fine 5 min later when I had a run with a Lotus & has been perfectly drivable since, don't know if the slip was caused by 280Ks of hammering or the 6000 launch but for the price they seem pretty good value.
As for the clutch judder, on a previous car I had I got very bad judder soon after an engine re build with a new clutch, turned out the rear seal was leaking oil onto the clutch plate somehow & was the cause of the prob, dunno if this can happen on a Subi tho.
